Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the You Zodiac app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. You Zodiac is operated by an Australian sole trader (“we,” “us”).

1. The short version

You Zodiac doesn't require an account, doesn't run advertising, and doesn't sell your data. The birth details you enter — yours and, optionally, another person's — are stored only on your own device. We don't keep a copy of them, and there is no database of users to be part of. If you subscribe, payment is handled by the app store you downloaded You Zodiac from; we never see your card details.

2. Information you provide

To generate your chart and readings, the app asks for:

• Your first name, so readings can address you
• Your date of birth, and — if you choose to add them — birth time and birth place
• Optionally, the same details for another person, to cast their chart or a synastry reading in Tools

This information is stored locally on your device — in the app's own storage on iOS and Android, or in your browser's storage if you use the web version. It is not uploaded to a You Zodiac account or database, because You Zodiac doesn't have one — there is no sign-up and no login.

On the web version this storage belongs to your browser rather than to us, so it isn't permanent: clearing your browsing data will remove it, and iOS may clear it automatically if you haven't opened the app for an extended period. If that happens, the app will simply ask for your details again. Nothing is recoverable by us, because we never had it.

3. How chart calculations work

Calculating a birth chart or a daily reading requires astronomical and astrological calculation that happens outside your device. When a chart is generated, the app sends the relevant birth details — date, time, and place — to our own server, which passes the request on to a third-party astrological calculation service and returns the result to you.

That server exists so that our access credentials for the calculation service are never exposed in the app itself. It passes requests through and does not store the birth details contained in them. It does apply a rate limit based on the requesting network address, to prevent abuse of the service.

Separately, when you enter a place of birth, the app sends that place name directly to a third-party geocoding service to convert it into coordinates. This request does not pass through our server and does not include your name, date, or time of birth.

The written readings in the app — for example the Arc and the "how do these signs shape me" explanations — are generated by an artificial-intelligence language model. To produce them, our server sends the model the relevant chart positions (signs, houses and aspects) together with your current age or the date in question. It does not send your name, your exact date and time of birth, or your place of birth. Because many people share the same chart positions, we keep a copy of each generated reading on our server, keyed only by those positions, so it can be reused rather than regenerated. These cached readings contain no personal details and are deleted automatically after about a year.

None of these providers is instructed by us to retain your information beyond what is needed to answer the request. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

4. Technical information collected automatically

Like any website, You Zodiac is delivered by a web server, and that server records basic technical information about each request — including your network (IP) address, the time of the request, and general information about your browser and device. This is standard for all web traffic and is used to deliver the app, keep it secure, and prevent abuse.

We don't use this information to build a profile of you, and it isn't connected to your birth details, because those never reach a server we control in a stored form. The same applies to the server that generates readings for the apps.

You Zodiac does not currently use analytics or tracking tools, and sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Deleting your data

Because everything personal is stored on your device, you're always in control of it. To delete the data You Zodiac holds about you:

• In the app: you can change your birth details at any time from Settings. Settings → Data → Refresh chart data clears the charts and readings stored on your device.
• Clearing app storage: on Android, go to your phone's Settings → Apps → You Zodiac → Storage → Clear storage. This removes your name, birth details and everything else the app has saved, immediately.
• Uninstalling: deleting the You Zodiac app from your phone removes everything it stored on that device. On the web version, clearing your browser's site data does the same.
• Subscription records: if you subscribed, a record of that purchase is kept by Google Play or the App Store under their own policies, and by our subscription service (see section 6) for as long as needed to manage your subscription and meet our legal and accounting obligations. To ask us to delete the subscription record we hold, email admin@youzodiac.com from the address you'd like us to reply to, and we'll confirm within 30 days.

There is no You Zodiac account to delete, because none is created. The cached AI readings described in section 3 contain no personal details and are not tied to you.

6. Subscriptions and payments

You and Tools are free to use. The Arc is available with a You Zodiac Premium subscription, billed through Google Play on Android or the App Store on iOS. The web version is currently free and has no subscription.

Payment is taken by Google or Apple under their own terms and privacy policies. We never receive your card number or billing address. To know whether to unlock the Arc, we use a third-party subscription management service (RevenueCat), which receives from the app store a record of your purchase — the product bought, the dates it started and renews or expires, and its status — along with an anonymous identifier generated on your device. This identifier is not linked to your name or birth details, and we use it only to manage and restore your subscription.

7. What we don't do

• We don't require you to create an account
• We don't run third-party advertising in the app
• We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone
• We don't store your name or birth details on our servers
• We don't see or store your payment card details

8. Children's privacy

You Zodiac is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us using the details below and we'll address it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes — for example, if we introduce optional analytics, paid features, or new functionality that affects how data is handled. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
