Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the You Zodiac app collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. You Zodiac is operated by an Australian sole trader (“we,” “us”).

1. The short version

You Zodiac doesn't require an account, doesn't run advertising, and doesn't sell your data. The birth details you enter — yours and, optionally, a partner's — are stored only on your own device. We don't keep a copy of them, and there is no database of users to be part of.

2. Information you provide

To generate your chart and readings, the app asks for:

• Your date of birth, and — if you choose to add them — birth time and birth place
• Optionally, the same details for a partner, to generate a compatibility reading

This information is stored locally in your browser's own storage on your device. It is not uploaded to a You Zodiac account or database, because You Zodiac doesn't have one — there is no sign-up and no login.

Because this storage belongs to your browser rather than to us, it isn't permanent. Clearing your browsing data will remove it, and iOS in particular may clear it automatically if you haven't opened the app for an extended period. If that happens, the app will simply ask for your details again. Nothing is recoverable by us, because we never had it.

3. How chart calculations work

Calculating a birth chart or a daily reading requires astronomical and astrological calculation that happens outside your device. When a chart is generated, the app sends the relevant birth details — date, time, and place — to our own server, which passes the request on to a third-party astrological calculation service and returns the result to you.

That server exists so that our access credentials for the calculation service are never exposed in the app itself. It passes requests through and does not store the birth details contained in them. It does apply a rate limit based on the requesting network address, to prevent abuse of the service.

Separately, when you enter a place of birth, the app sends that place name directly to a third-party geocoding service to convert it into coordinates. This request does not pass through our server and does not include your name, date, or time of birth.

Neither of these providers is instructed by us to retain your information beyond what is needed to answer the request. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

4. Technical information collected automatically

Like any website, You Zodiac is delivered by a web server, and that server records basic technical information about each request — including your network (IP) address, the time of the request, and general information about your browser and device. This is standard for all web traffic and is used to deliver the app, keep it secure, and prevent abuse.

We don't use this information to build a profile of you, and it isn't connected to your birth details, because those never reach a server we control in a stored form.

You Zodiac does not currently use analytics or tracking tools, and sets no advertising or tracking cookies.

5. Data you control

Because everything personal is stored on your device, you're always in control of it:

• You can clear your saved chart data at any time from Settings → Data
• Clearing your browser's site data, or removing the app from your home screen and clearing that data, removes everything stored locally
• There is no cloud account to delete, because none is created

6. Cost

You Zodiac is currently provided free of charge. There is no subscription, no payment is taken, and no payment or billing information is collected. If paid features are introduced in future, this policy will be updated to describe how payment information is handled before that happens.

7. What we don't do

• We don't require you to create an account
• We don't run third-party advertising in the app
• We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone
• We don't store your birth details on our servers

8. Children's privacy

You Zodiac is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us using the details below and we'll address it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app changes — for example, if we introduce optional analytics, paid features, or new functionality that affects how data is handled. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
